GLENCOE & OBAN
This is a wonderful day
out to see the dramatic
scenery of the Highlands
and visit the port of
Oban, the Gateway to the
Isles.
After leaving the beauty
of Loch Earn (Friday) or
Loch Lubnaig (Monday)
behind us,
we drive through
Glen
Dochart, past Loch Lubhair,
before stopping in scenic Tyndrum
for a short break.
Then it's up and over the wild Rannoch Moor into Glencoe, scene
of an infamous massacre in 1692.
After pausing to admire the awesome scenery and reflect upon
the history associated with it, we drive down the coast road to
Oban for lunch. You will then be given plenty of time to have lunch
and
enjoy exploring this West coast town with its bustling harbour
and ferries to the Isles.
Back on board, our return journey takes us via Loch Awe, the
Pass of Brander and the hollow mountain!
